Course Description

A Home Health Aid provides non-clinical assistance to patients and in a residential setting. The majority work at residential care facilities including but not limited to nursing homes and rehabilitation centers; as well as, congregate care and assisted living communities. In some instances Home Health Aid are employed to live with an aging or ailing relatives in their private home. Day to day, these professionals provide companionship and attentive care assisting the patient with bathing, meals, shopping and other activities while closely monitoring the patients overall emotional, physical and mental wellbeing.
