An Electrocardiograph (EKG) Technologist plays an essential role in cardiac care. They are responsible for administering a variety of cardiac test using equipment that measures, monitors, and graphically traces the electrical activity of the heart. EKG Technologists work in outpatient clinics, diagnostic testing centers, labs, nursing and long-term care homes, and private physicians’ practices. They play a key role in the patient care and use their knowledge of the anatomy of the heart to review EKG tests and alert doctors of any irregularities or arrhythmias.
